After a long spell from planting activities because of Covid, I am very pleased to announce that Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek (FOLKC) is to conduct a tree planting on Sunday 19 June 2022 to celebrate the opening of the Hosken Reserve children’s adventure playground, BBQ area, and dog-off-lead area.
This FOLKC project was funded through a partnership between Hobsons Bay City, West Gate Tunnel Community Grants Program and FOLKC.
The planting is to commence at 10 am, beginning with registration at the viewing platform at Hosken Reserve, Blackshaws Road, Altona North.
The celebration and official opening will go from 12 noon until 2.30pm, and there will be on stage entertainment, free food, drink, and information about the Kororoit Creek and developments that are occurring along and adjacent to the Creek environmental corridor.
Other partners in this day include Melbourne Water, Toyota, Greater Western Water, Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, Nestle, Planet Ark, Greening the West, and Cedar Meats who will be running the spit and supplying the meat for the BBQ.
I hope that you can join with us to help celebrate this wonderful initiative: one which will benefit all visitors to the Kororoit Creek corridor in the future.
If you could pass on this invitation to others, it would be very much appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing you ‘Down the Creek’.
